The Sankofa Workplace Wellness Program (SWWP) was born out of the emerging need for a new brand of wellbeing, specifically focused on mental health. Created by former corporate and organizational leaders, the SWWP represents a lived experience of being an employee needing additional support in dealing with common stresses (stress, anxiety, depression), often caused by the workplace. In addition, with the emerging shift of returning to the office, life patterns for the everyday employee are changing and being challenged.

Our team envisions a workplace where employees have the necessary tools needed to cope and heal through these common stresses - in turn, showing up refreshed & inspired for their loved ones, communities, and workplace. With extensive expertise, as well as a dedication to building well-being capacity within the community, our goal is to bring much needed balance to your workplace.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WORKPLACE WELLNESS

Sankofa Health’s workplace Wellness program is unique in that it was designed to directly support employee mental health. With the rise in employee daily stresses - from work, pandemic, family, etc. the demand is high as ever to address these concerns. Worldwide, employees stress climbed to 43% in 2021 – and was much higher, at 57%, in the U.S. and Canada – as reported in Gallup's State of the Global Workplace 2021 Report.

Having a structured wellness program in place for employees provides them resources, assistance, guidance, and support needed to address many concerns negatively impacting engagement and most importantly, mental health. Our program specifically places a strong emphasis on community to address those concerns and to provide employees with an inclusive and accessible experience. The program addresses the social and cultural needs of employees through inclusive offerings to include yoga, meditation, workshops/trainings and company on-site.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES 4 KEY COMPONENTS

Our program places a strong emphasis on community, providing employees with a diverse and accessible virtual experience.

  • Yoga

    Yoga

    SWWP offers over 15+ classes a week to your company in a LIVE Virtual space. These classes are available throughout the day to best cater to your employees’ schedules and are unlimited.

  • Meditation

    SWWP’s meditation is offered 10 times a week (twice a day) to help meet your employee’s mindfulness goals. Each of the 10 different meditation classes are offered in a LIVE virtual space for your company’s ease of access.

  • Workshops

    Each month, your employees will have the opportunity to select from a wide array of workshops to virtually attend. These 4 workshop offerings a month (one per week) are designed with your company in mind and target prominent challenges that face your day-to-day.

  • Company On-Site

    SWWP offers your company the perk of a company specific on-site visit. One of our highly trained staff will meet with your employees once a month in an immersive experience creating calm, ease, and a safe space.

WORKPLACE WELLNESS STAFF

Sankofa Health prides itself on the talented staff members that bring it’s program to life. For our team, equity, diversity, and inclusion aren’t just buzzwords, they are cultural necessities. The SWWP allows your employees to bring their fullest selves to work and feel a sense of wellness and belonging. Our team has a depth of knowledge in the mindfulness, yoga, and meditation space, however, where we differ from other programs is the integrative approach that taps wisdom in complimentary arenas.

Our staff consists of: licensed counselors, educators, nutritionists, certified health coaches, nurse practitioners, diabetes educators, doulas, yoga and meditation teachers, and so much more!
